For initial cost estimation, Dutch Float Dike commissioned engineering firm Witteveen & Bos to develop a Cost Tool.

Based on project parameters — length, height, closing angle, and number of corner points — the tool provides a reliable estimate of potential construction costs.

Contractors can use this estimate during discussions with clients when comparing alternatives. Experience has shown that the Life Cycle Costs (LCC) of the Dutch Float Dike are competitive with other systems, including glass flood barriers and temporary demountable barriers, while offering significantly higher safety margins.
